PT Shockwave Treatment
Non-invasive therapeutic procedure that uses acoustic energy to promote tissue healing and blood flow to areas of chronic injury and pain. Especially beneficial for tendinopathies, adhesive capsulitis, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, sports injuries and more. Most patients benefit from 8-10 treatments, once or twice weekly. Treatments last about 5-10 minutes. Maximum benefit is seen after 10-12 weeks of treatment, although some clients report improvement in just 1 treatment. Mild pain during the treatment is normal with potential for mild redness or bruising. This should diminish within 24 hours. This modality is most effective when combined with a regular course of physical therapy to also address underlying mobility, flexibility and strength issues. Some conditions are not appropriate for shockwave and certain medications may be contraindicated. You and your PT will determine if this treatment is right for you.

However, the payments you make may be reimbursable by your insurance company under your out-of-network physical therapy benefits; the exact percentage depends upon your plan.
